This person will focus on the strategic planning, design, and implementation of taxonomies to help achieve goals for the Interests & Communities Taxonomy team, such as supporting the categorizing and labeling, machine learning and content understanding systems at Facebook & Instagram. The crux of this work is in developing, maintaining, growing a taxonomy for a number of complex, many-faceted products while integrating it into our broader taxonomy/ontology infrastructure. The work also includes following taxonomy management best practices, metadata and vocabulary standards, and building cross-functional relationships. This role will be focused on extending our Taxonomy to work with Instagram content and will be an amazing opportunity to help users find interest based content in a dynamic and rich content set. The person in this role will be expected to be an experienced taxonomist able to quickly expand knowledge domains.
