Associate General Counsel, Product (Instagram)

Meta seeks a highly motivated and experienced team player to serve as Associate General Counsel supporting a number of teams responsible for Instagram growth, privacy, and security, and managing Instagram’s terms and policies and compliance initiatives. This is a great opportunity to join a growing legal team and to work on novel issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on and drive legal strategy for Instagram growth, privacy, security, key terms and policies, and compliance initiatives
  • Review Instagram features and business initiatives to provide practical legal risk mitigation strategies across multiple jurisdictions
  • Build, manage, and mentor a team of experienced attorneys and legal professionals
  • Work cross-functionally with Meta’s legal, business, and product teams
  • Coordinate with privacy, public policy, communications, product management, engineering, product marketing and other cross-functional teams on product development

Minimum Qualifications

  • J.D. degree and membership in at least one US state bar
  • 8+ years of legal experience, including at a law firm or in-house experience (applicable product counseling, regulatory, litigation, and/or compliance experience)
  • Managerial experience
  • Experience working with and leading cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience advising clients on risk mitigation across technology product platforms
  • Experience working on product counseling, regulatory, litigation, and compliance matters
  • Experience in youth security, integrity, intermediary liability, competition, and terms and policies
  • Experience working on privacy legal issues and privacy counseling
