Lead Counsel, Product (Instagram)

Meta seeks a highly motivated and experienced team player to serve as Lead Counsel serving a number of teams responsible for Instagram products and/or communities. This is a great opportunity to join a growing legal team and to work on novel issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Advise on and drive legal strategy for Instagram products and initiatives
Review products, features and business initiatives to provide practical legal risk mitigation strategies across multiple jurisdictions
Coordinate with public policy, communications, product management, engineering, product marketing and other cross-functional teams on product development and other initiatives

Minimum Qualifications

J.D. degree and membership in at least one US state bar
5+ years of legal experience, including at a law firm or in-house experience (applicable product counseling, regulatory, litigation, and/or compliance experience)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with and leading cross-functional teams
Experience advising clients on risk mitigation across technology product platforms
Experience working on product counseling, regulatory, litigation, and compliance matters
Experience in privacy, content, ranking, machine learning, messaging, integrity, intermediary liability, competition
