Communications Manager, Creator Monetization

Instagram is seeking an experienced Communications Manager to look after creator monetization. With an increasing focus on how we help creators make a living on Instagram, this role will be crucial in landing that narrative externally. You should be passionate about Instagram with knowledge of the digital entertainment industry, creators, and the creator monetization landscape. In addition, deep experience in global product positioning and launch strategies will be critical for this role. The ideal candidate needs to be creative, hard-working, be able to thrive in a demanding, fast-moving environment with multiple cross functional partners, and work on a number of projects simultaneously. From building product launch plans, to crafting reactive press office issues, the ideal candidate is capable of articulating complex issues in an easy-to-digest manner. Strong organizational and stakeholder management skills are both key to success in this role. This position is based in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Lead global communications strategy for creator monetization
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Marketing, Sales, Policy, Legal, and Content
  • Lead creator monetization announcements/launches, including development and management of press materials, spokespeople and cross functional coordination, organize press briefings and prep spokespeople
  • Organize press briefings, events, and industry opportunities - ensure our key messaging, narratives and FAQs scale to international teams and spokespeople
  • Develop proactive stories and moments to show how Creators can make a living on Instagram

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of communications experience
  • Existing media relationships - experience working with creators, entertainment, tech, and business/marketing media
  • Experience developing social campaigns and using nontraditional media to reach audiences
  • Project management and decision-making skills
  • Verbal and written communications skills
  • Understanding of social media, and interest for Instagram

  • Knowledgeable about Instagram and Facebook and the business opportunity
  • Knowledgeable about creator landscape
  • Experience with product communications
  • Cross-functional partnership experience and experience working directly with executives
