Instagram Consumer Communications Manager, Brazil

Instagram is seeking a Communications Manager to develop PR strategy and programs that support the company’s consumer, product and creator-focused efforts in Brazil. The successful candidate will have strong experience in executing high-profile corporate communications initiatives and deep knowledge of Brazilian market landscape, be an excellent writer, strategic thinker, curious, open and creative to reach multiple audiences through different communication channels, including Instagram itself. This role will require the ability to manage multiple projects and communications campaigns in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time position based in our Sao Paulo office.


  • Develop and execute consumer-facing public relations strategies
  • Drive positive coverage in consumer, tech and business media in Brazil
  • Be creative in the use of multiple communication channels to reach desired audiences
  • Protect and enhance the reputation of Instagram in Brazil
  • Interface and consult regularly with cross-functional teams across the company and in different countries
  • Work closely with the partnerships and marketing teams in Brazil and support cross-functional initiatives and manage our presence at key events
  • Coordinate external PR agencies for consumer and product announcements, as well as broader growth initiatives
  • Support and manage the creation of editorial video-first projects, press materials and programs in Brazil
  • Organize press briefings, media sessions and events
  • Support the Latam Consumer Communications Manager in the creation and execution of strategies and programs

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years professional experience in communications, public relations or marketing, both in-house or agency
  • Experience working in Technology and Consumer verticals and with Creators and Teens audiences
  • Knowledge of Brazil and local media landscape
  • Strong media relations in Brazil
  • A proven track record in implementing communications strategies in Brazil
  • Experience in managing PR agencies, contractors and project management
  • Crisis management experience
  • Fluent English (written and speaking) is a must. Spanish is a plus
  • Experience in content production is a plus
