Technical Program Manager, Instagram Growth

The Instagram Growth team’s mission is to help everyone in the world grow closer to the people and things they love. We are looking for a Technical Program Manager to help realize this mission and bring Instagram’s value to the next 1 billion users. In this role, you will develop and lead technical programs aimed at scaling our Graph platform to generate more quality connections and directly impact our users’ experience in our products. You will interface with product teams across Instagram to help them leverage the Graph platform in support of strategic priorities while making sure we can scale the platform in a sustainable way to support future growth. In addition, you will support the development of new platform capabilities to ensure Instagram products can adapt and grow in a dynamic market.

Responsibilities

  • Articulate the technology, requirements, goals and milestones of your team
  • Build subject matter expertise in your area and stay up-to-date on technological developments
  • Develop and manage cross-functional programs, facilitating relationships across Instagram and Facebook to identify risks, manage dependencies and optimize resources between media infra groups
  • Work with Product and Engineering to define your team's roadmap and execution strategy
  • Drive internal process improvements across teams, remove roadblocks, and deliver on high-impact projects with a focus on efficiency, performance, and quality
  • Assess business impact, prioritize initiatives and drive accountability in a fast-paced environment through project planning and strong interpersonal skills
  • Develop robust engineering accountability measurements, maintaining high quality engineering work
  • Drive accountability and ownership in a fast paced environment across a dynamic team through project planning and interpersonal skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of software engineering, systems engineering or technical product/program management experience
  • Experience delivering tech programs or products from inception to delivery
  • Knowledge of user needs, gathering requirements, and defining scope
  • Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams, demonstrated critical thinking, and thought leadership
  • Communication experience and experience working with technical management teams to develop systems, solutions, and products
  • Organizational, coordination and multi-tasking experience
  • Analytical and problem-solving experience with large-scale systems
  • Experience establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and multiple partners in different time zones

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing and operating large-scale Machine Learning infrastructure
  • Technical knowledge and/or experience in capacity management across storage and compute
